About Us

Starting in 1996 Jay has been working alongside Glenn, his father, learning the ins and outs of marine mechanics. As Glenn was the Boat Service Manager at Cabela's for 19 years. Jay has always been learning and progressing his knowledge in marine motors and cosmetic enhancements.

This has been a hobby of Jay's since the age of 15. Realizing he found great pleasure in troubleshooting the mechanical- and other flaws- that were keeping people off of the water, he knew he had found his calling. Starting with family and friends the word of his abilities quickly spread. From there he discovered customers preferred the ease and adaptability of a mobile mechanic, and with that Powell Family Outboards was created.
